off to Lindabrunn

With training camp in Sardinia now complete, the squad returned home yesterday for the weekend. While the camp was plagued with rainy conditions, Coach Hickersberger felt a number of positive elements came from it, most notably the building of team unity. Based upon internal matches and the romp against SV Spittal, it is obvious how they are experimenting with the youth movement ( Stefan Maierhofer & Erwin “the Hoff” Hoffer) of SK Rapid Wien and trying to decide if they are ready for the likes of Germany, Poland and Croatia.

With fitness work behind them, they start the all-important tactical based camp in Lindabrunn on Monday that leads to important friendlies against Nigeria on the 27th and Malta two days later that will decide the final squad.
