J, the Bianchi talk has cooled -- he says he would be willing to play in Turin but needs a concrete offer, and I really doubt they could afford him or Bojinov. Nicola Amoruso was recently added; hopefully he'll help, because goals are a serious problem for Toro (despite the presence of Allesandro Rosina, who had a disappointing 2007-2008 season). Reports in the last couple days suggest they're close to landing Ignazio Abate on loan from Milan which would be a fantastic addition -- he's young but really provides a spark, and has played well for the Azzurrini lately.

Thanks for the info on Säumel -- the deal came out of nowhere, and he's so not the kind of player that Toro usually get (not a million years old or 14, primarily, and also he'd never played for Palermo). It sounds like he'll be a great addition, that sort of leadership will be particularly lacking in the midfield once Corini retires after this season.

thank you both for joining me. It is a pleasure to hear from you.

As far as avoiding relegation, I have a "difficult" time with Serie A because I appreciate all of the teams so much. Last seasons relegation fight was extraordinary and to be honest some of the most exciting, passionate in the world. I hate to see my friends in Sicily or Sardinia lose so here I was cheering them on in the final stages - lol.

btw - I have heard rumours of either Rolando Bianchi or Valeri Bojinov landing in Torino. Do you know of this at all?

Martha - thank you for that information I wasn't aware. Jürgen is a solid player, good linear pace and vision but will need to adjust to the tactically superior Serie A. However Torino gets a very good man known for his dedication and leadership. As a general statement it is very good for Austrian Football as a number of players have moved to Serie A, so I am hopeful Austrian fans will get behind this more.

I have to visit you over at Nice. I am sure you are enjoying that situation. Going to be a good campaign for your team.

I love Toro, but the reality of the situation is that they will probably struggle to avoid the drop, just like they did last year. Also, FWIW Barone is probably on his way out, possibly to Lazio as an exchange for Massimo Mutarelli.

What kind of player is Säumel? I knows he's a dmid, but that's about it.
