Coach Hickersberger resigns due to health reasons

It is bitter news to swallow but the decision of whether Coach Hickersberger will lead Austria through the World Cup qualifications has been made as he has resigned as head coach. This comes as a stunning surprise to the public as it was believed that the ÖFB was renewing his contract. As was revealed by Coach Hickersberger the decision was based upon his personal health as he is grappling with arthritis and degeneration of both knee and hip joints. We will sorely miss a man who gave so much to Austrian Football and wish him all the best in the future.
